We have built four farms since our first one in 2017 but our process for making them has not changed.

Our steps for building a farm are as follows;

1. Cardboard if weeds are present. Our latest farm had no weeds yet as we had removed concrete just before planting. 

2. Rice husk charcoal for an even surface. The charcoal from rice husks is easily found and is often free. It helps give the farm a nice surface to build the garden beds on top of.

3. Measured raised beds filled with a compost rich soil to 6" high.

4. Rice husk in the pathways to prevent weeds and hold in moisture. It's also nice to walk on.
